First of all, we have to notice the fact that Julia in this article has right when she introduces briefly the strategies of InterContinental Hotels & Resorts. However, from my point of view, it will be better to develop more about the Strategies of the Group in terms of location and also expansion. I think, it will be great to talk about the New Hotel in Moscow in terms of number of rooms, facilities or location.
In the meantime, Julia has probably forgotten to mention and especially highlight the arrival of new properties in Russia by the Group. Indeed, due to the openings of lots of companies inside and around the main cities of Russia, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts have planed to implement a Crowne Plaza at St Petersburg in 2009, a Holiday Inn at Ligovsky Prospekt and also a Holiday Inn at Moskovsky.
As a conclusion, the explanation of Julia is correct but we do not have any information about the average number of properties implemented in countries each year by the Group. I will be very interesting to have an idea of the “opening proportion” of new establishments in the world compared to Russia to judge efficiently of this aggressive strategy.
